During my internship with Liberty University’s Career Services, my team was asked to create some promos for the different intern positions that Liberty offered. We were each asked to make promos in varying formats including Instagram posts, stories, and email headers.

In the end, my promos were selected to be used. It was a rewarding experience to see my designs being posted even after my internship was over.

There were several career fairs during my internship as well. These were major projects for my team as the Career Services department hosted and promoted each career fair. Each member on my team was given a different career fair, for which we had to create a digital kit, branding kit, social media kit, and other various promotional material. These designs would then be printed into flyers and posters as well as being posted online and shown on various TV’s across campus.

The first career fair I was in charge of was the Ministry Fair, which is one of the largest fairs they offer. While some of the others on my team had previous year’s work to utilize and expand upon, the previous Ministry Fair material had been mostly lost. Therefore, I had to create most of this from scratch. My manager was extremely helpful, making himself available to answer any questions I had and giving me access to other career fair files so that I could be sure that my designs fit with their brand identity.

The Education Fair was the second fair I worked on, and was one of the last projects I worked on during this internship. After creating the Ministry Fair from the ground up, this fair ended being a little easier for me. I was able to utilize a lot of the elements I created for the Ministry Fair and tweak them to work for the Education Fair. As leadership wanted all the fairs to be similar in design, this ended up working perfectly.

While finishing up my work for the Education Fair, I was asked to create stickers for all of the fairs. My manager was honest and told me that he didn’t know what exactly he was looking for in the stickers, but was interested to see what I came up with. He knew that he wanted them to be similar to the logos of each of the fairs, but not just a copy of them. He wanted them to be highly illustrative and almost “elementary”. We worked together narrowing that vision. I created several different versions of the stickers and he and the rest of my team gave me feedback. In the end, this was the final version of the stickers which my manager was extremely pleased with.

I was tasked with creating a series of ads to be included in Liberty’s Annual Report. Four organizations had paid for the space in the report, and all but one had allowed us to design the ad. Those that had specific branding info they wanted included sent it over with the information they wanted shared. Otherwise, it was up to me to find/create the imagery for the ads, as well as creating the overall design and spread in the report.
